There's lots to see and do at Auckland Zoo, all year round! Thanks to the generous support from Auckland Council, we can offer a subsidised ticket price to visitors who live in Auckland and book a minimum of one day in advance. For all visitors, visiting us during off-peak times (during NZ school terms) means you pay less than peak time (weekends, public and school holidays).
Auckland Zoo’s Annual Pass Membership gives you and your whānau unlimited entry to the Zoo 364 days a year and other great benefits. Plus, you’ll be contributing to Auckland Zoo’s conservation work at the Zoo and in the wild. More info
It is advisable for groups larger than 15 people to fill in this form, so we can provide a health and safety briefing and help your group enter the Zoo quickly and easily.
Plus, group bookings for Auckland Residents, made a minimum of one day in advance, will receive book in advance pricing.
School groups or classes should book through our Conservation Learning team for special education pricing.
Purchasing tickets for 5 or more people will get a 20% discount right across all general admission ticket types.
Groups of over 15 individuals need to contact us ahead of time so we can assist with your visit.

We’ve made some changes to Zoo tickets by introducing more options for visitors, including peak and off-peak tickets and great value ‘book-in-advance’ options for Aucklanders. Children under four years remain free and there are no changes to annual pass membership fees or school visits.
If you live in Auckland, you can continue to visit for the current adult ($24) price and child tickets will cost $14 on peak days (weekends, public and school holidays) – you’ll just need to book before midnight the day before your visit. You can also choose to book off-peak tickets in advance and pay a new lower price of $19 for an adult, and $11 for a child (4-14 years). If you prefer a flexible ticket (that you can use on any day for up to 3 months from the date of purchase), you will pay the new price of $29 for an adult and $16.50 for a child.
If you are a New Zealander living outside of Auckland, you will pay the full price of $35/adult and $20/child on peak days. We have also introduced a new price of $29/adult and $16.50/child for off-peak days for visitors who live outside Auckland, including international visitors.
We are making these changes to help us meet rising costs and reduce our reliance on ratepayer funding while maintaining subsidised entry fees for people in our local communities. This follows four years of reduced ticket pricing while building our South East Asia Jungle Track.
As part of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) - a Auckland Council-Controlled Organisation – the Zoo has to play its part in helping TAU reach its target saving of $34.5m for the 2023/24 financial year, which means we can no longer subsidise entry fees for New Zealanders visiting from outside of Auckland.
This beautiful 336-page book showcases the Zoo’s rich and colourful history, with full colour photography and illustrations, it features a diverse collection of captivating stories, unexpected animal adventures, and insights into the groundbreaking conservation work by the Zoo and its partners.
All profits from the sale of this book will go towards wildlife conservation.
