Valentine's Late Old Elephant House Dinner 2025

Please note, this is an Adults Only event.

If you have allergies, intolerances, or any questions, please let us know. Requests for vegan and specific dietary requirements MUST be requested at the time of booking, as we cannot accommodate these requirements on the day.

Pre-booking is required, walk-ups not available on the day.

Old Elephant House Valentines Day Dinner is run on Friday 14 February 2025

Four sessions are available:

• Session 1: The courtyard starting at 5.30pm and ending at 7.00pm. Guests must be seated no later than 5.40pm.
• Session 2: The café starting at 5.45pm and ending at 7.15pm. Guests must be seated no later than 5.55pm
• Session 3: The courtyard starting at 7.30pm and ending at 9.00pm (please note that the zoo will be closed by the time you leave your meal, and the exit will be via Gate 3 on Old Mill Road). Guests must be seated no later than 7.40pm
• Session 4: The café starting at 7.45pm and ending at 9.15pm (please note that the zoo will be closed by the time you leave your meal, and the exit will be via Gate 3 on Old Mill Road). Guests must be seated no later than 7.55pm

Each session is 90 mins long. Admission will not be granted if guests arrive after 10mins.

Booking cut-off dates is as follows:

• The last date to book is Thursday 6th February 2025, unless sold out prior.

Any decreases in the number of guests after a booking has been made may result in the original confirmed guest number being charged.   

No changes in the number of guests to be catered for will be accepted after 5pm of the cut-off date (Thursday 6th February)

If you are a member, providing your Membership Number is compulsory.

Cancellation of the booking may, in Montana Group’s sole discretion, result in a cancellation fee as follows:

• Cancellation within 7 days of the booking will incur a 100% cancellation fee;
• Cancellation more than 7 days of the booking will incur a 50% cancellation fee;
• No concessions will be made for cancellations due to Covid-19, and all conditions above will apply.  

The Customer acknowledges that:

• Minimum orders may apply;
• Menu content is always subject to change due to market or seasonal availability; and
• Where, due to unforeseen circumstances (eg supplier shortage), Montana Group is unable to provide the agreed menu or Catering Services, Montana Group reserves the right to adapt the menu and Catering Services via email with the customer.
• In the rare case that the Zoo is forced to cancel a session due to inclement weather, notice of cancellation will be provided within a day’s notice of a session. This is at the sole discretion of Zoo Management and all customers who have booked will receive a 100% refund.
• All event tickets are seated in the Old Elephant House café and courtyard.
• The Old Elephant House restaurant will not be open for walk-ups during the event or on the night.

Tickets are also available at the gate, however we recommend purchasing online to save time.

Plus if you purchase your Valentine's Late ticket by 4pm, Thursday 13 February you will go in the draw to win an extra special Valentine's Late package for two.

Please note: This event is R18 ONLY, ID will be checked on the night, you will forfeit your ticket if you are not able to provide valid 18+ ID.

Your Valentine's Late ticket is able to be used from 4pm on Friday 14 February 2024. Last entry time at 7pm.

As Valentine's Late are special events, they require their own tickets to be purchased. You can buy tickets online here.

If you are already in the Zoo having entered using a general admission ticket (or annual pass membership, etc) earlier in the day, you are welcome to stay and continue enjoying the Zoo as long as you are 18 years or older and able to provide valid 18+ ID.

Adult Auckland Zoo Annual Pass Members who are 18 years and over get free access to Valentine's Late.

Yes! The below on-site venues are open:

Te Puna café has a $25 special: pizza, chips & drink deal, plus all the usual hot and cold café food (dine-in or takeaway).

Old Elephant House restaurant is serving a special Valentine's gourmet dining experience - bookings required. 

The Watering Hole café* offers takeaway burgers, hot chips, cold drinks and scoop ice cream.

Wētāpunga café has refreshing cold drinks, ice blocks from the freezer and cabinet food.

Korimako café* offers American hot dogs, takeaway coffee and scoop ice cream.

The Lookout café* offers coffee, cold drinks, and a range of Kapiti ice cream.

Yes, we have a range of hire items available at our information centre (wheelchairs, mobility scooters and umbrellas). We take bookings in advance for these items on 09 360 3805 or email reservations@aucklandzoo.co.nz

Yes, the whole zoo is open with the exception of our Kiwi habitat, "Te Pō / The Night" which closes at 5.30pm.
